Global Workforce Reveals Learning And Development Not Meeting Their Needs
79% of employees would like to see a bigger focus on Learning and Development at work.
85% currently struggle to access training in their workplace.
And, only 16% of employees find learning offered in their work very effective.
New research published by City & Guilds Group, the leading global skills organization, reveals that while employees around the world have a strong appetite for learning, they are inhibited by a lack of accessible, appropriate and engaging training opportunities.
Learning & Development Research by City & Guilds
The study, conducted by City & Guilds Group business Kineo, surveyed 6500 employees and 1300 employers. Across 13 markets they found that 79% of employees would like to see a bigger focus on training and people development in their workplace.
With many failing to see a positive impact of learning and development (L&D) on either their career progression (39%), performance at work (29%) or understanding of their organization and sector (32%). So, It is clear current programs aren’t quite hitting the mark!
The research shows that access to training is a major obstacle. 85% of employees saying they have experienced problems accessing L&D activity in their workplace. Respondents cited not having enough time to get into training as a significant barrier. Along with technical issues and design flaws.
For 59% of employees, the current training content they receive is not always considered exciting or engaging, making it clear that content and delivery methods need a global overhaul.
According to the study, employees are calling for a more curated and bespoke approach to training. They list more personalized (38%) and bitesize (26%) content as well as a better blend of on- and offline training (26%), as key to more effectively equipping them with the skills for the future.
We are so lucky that more and more people include uQualio® in their blogs and reviews about e-Learning systems.
Here is the newest example from Mirasee. In the article "The Course Builder’s Guide to Learning Management" they list good LMS systems and uQualio® can, of course, be found at the end: https://mirasee.com/blog/learning-management-systems/

Edtech DK - a new powerful network.
By Floriane Papillon, Multimedia & Marketing Excellence @ uQualio®, email@example.com
EdTech Denmark (DK) was recently established in Denmark to enhance collaboration and gains from the development and use of learning technologies and services. This is done as a non-profit, market-driven association for private and public actors where the member are Danish companies, researchers, analysts and educational institutions working in the field of learning technology.
EdTech DK’s goal is to facilitate and make partnerships with stakeholders in EdTech to support innovation projects, business development and research activities both nationally and internationally. EdTech Denmark provides and disseminates knowledge about learning and learning technologies in order to strengthen innovation in the education sector, in business and in the Danish society.
uQualio®s CEO Kent Valentin Fallesen was happy to find EdTech DK established:
“Fantastic to have an Edtech association in Denmark that nationally and internationally can facilitate and promote a network for learning & learning technology. At uQualio® we are happy to be a member.”
uQualio® JOINED EDTECH DK AND WANT TO BE ACTIVE
uQualio® joined EdTech DK as we share common ground and have mutual interests. EdTech DK wants to create a learning network to support innovation and research activities. uQualio® wishes to improve people’s skills on all levels by offering a low-cost fun to use platform, that allows anyone to turn almost any video into eLearning - thereby allowing companies and NGOs to take fast action in training of employees, sales partners or other interest groups.
GOT THE CHANCE TO ASK A FEW QUESTIONS
When Mikkel Frich, The CEO of Edtech DK, came to visit us, we had the opportunity to explain more about who we are and what we are doing to innovate in the industry.
During the visit, we also asked Mikkel a few questions about EdTech DK. How we can bring value to the newly established network and what companies like uQualio® can benefit from being a member:
Q; “Now you have heard about uQualio® platform – what has impressed you the most?”
A: “There are probably as many start-up business models as there are start-up’s but uQualio’s approach to video eLearning is both special and very usable. They think big, start small and scale fast. Making a platform that immediately, also internationally, supports microlearning for both education sector, NGO’s and companies is pretty exceptional.”
Q;” What is your plan for Start-ups in general?"
A: “To help them expand, follow the research and progress of the company. Put the start-up in contact with companies that could use their technologies to profit themselves. Partnerships are part of the goal at EdTech Denmark.”
Q: “With who do you share the latest knowledge of learning methods?”
A:” Our members, EdTech is a non-profit organization. Our objectives are to help by creating a community around new technologies, to increase research and development.”
Q: “How can uQualio® help EdTech DK and its other members?”
A:” Making people aware of uQualio® is the first step, getting people to see what is possible, and let companies try it out, it is a low-cost risk.”
Based on Mikkel’s visit, it’s pretty clear, that for any start-up within the educational sector, Edtech DK is a real opportunity that could make a big difference, it is not just about meeting people, it’s about meeting the right people, putting in contact companies that can fulfil each other needs.
“Sharing similar values are good for partnership!” both CEO’s agreed.
We look forward to the cooperation and inspiration going forward and already at TECHBBQ you can find both EdTech DK and uQualio®.
