Your Polish customers, employees, and participants can now enjoy uQualio® as well!
Polish is the latest language to join the uQualio® language offering. Our doors to the largest economy in Central and Eastern Europe are now open, and we are very excited to make eLearning easy for Polish businesses and people.
This comes a few months after Russian and Ukrainian languages have been added. Currently, you can enjoy the uQualio® platform in English, Danish, German, French, Spanish, Norwegian, Russian, Ukrainian, and Swedish.
It is very important to us at uQualio® to continually develop and improve our solution. Are your course participants speaking a language not currently available at uQualio®? Let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org. We can implement a language within a week!

At uQualio® we are very pleased to tell that – besides videos – also text, image as well as audio files can now be used on our eLearning platform

“Videos can cover most of the needed training, but some topics are better explained by adding other learning materials as well. The latest product release improves the combination of learning tactics appealing to multiple learning situations and therefore appeal to multiple types of users and customers,” says Kent Valentin Fallesen, CEO at uQualio®.
Video, image, text and audio files are all important elements in the ability of providing electronic performance support - 24/7 - on all devices. Audio files (podcasts) support listening and learning “on the move” - e.g. while walking, travelling by train, and similar. And as something rather unique uQualio® also supports interactivity with audio files such as it does today with video. If the learner answers incorrectly to a question, the system can playback the correct answer in the audio file. Image files on a tablet – such as e.g. a technical drawing – help engineers with machine maintenance on location.
Video will become more widely use and distributed to support learning
Despite the relevance of both text, image and audio files – video files will become more widely distributed:
“Historically, paper documents have been the core learning material. In the future text files will be an “add-on” to videos – with videos as the key source for learning”, says Kent Valentin Fallesen.
uQualio® — a new "WYSIWYG" Content Editor

uQualio® brings new features to improve user accounts' safety and a great leap forward in improving admin user experience with a new Content Editor:

Multiple log in attempts - redirect to "forgot password" and block user for an hour
We care for the safety of user accounts at uQualio®. That’s why we added additional features that restricts multiple log in attempts to prevent unauthorized access a user account.
"What You See Is What You Get" content editor
“What you see is what you get”
We have made a great improvement: now admin users get “what you see is what you get” Content Editor. That means that creating content looks almost exactly like the published Course. No more guessing where images are used and where the different descriptions are located. The layout is intuitive, which makes it much easier and a more pleasant experience to create Courses.
All changes are autosaved, so no need to worry that your progress will be lost.
NEXT button for publishing
If the admin user wants to publish a created Course right away, it can be done via the Next button. As always, it is as well possible to save a Draft as a Version and publish it later.
Question Editor: added "recommended characters" message
Because we care very much for a user-friendly mobile Course, we added a few recommendations on how to create a Test that looks good on mobile.
For example, an admin user is notified that the questions and answers are too long to look good on mobile and that we recommend keeping within a certain amount of characters.
Not possible to have empty Default Images
It is important that the users don’t get to see a Course with a missing Cover Image etc. That’s why we will always show standard images unless the admin user decides to change them. It is possible to replace an image, but not possible to delete it.
Added support of more languages for the Courses
We are internationally oriented and added a batch of new languages that the Courses can be created in. At the moment we support English, German, French, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Spanish languages.

Taking Test became a nicer visual experience
We have made many improvements to the design of the Test.
Now it feels nicer when you take a Test on your computer. The elements have been evenly centered, which makes it easier to visually focus and navigate through the questions.
It is also more convenient to take a Test on mobile, as you would not need to scroll down for the navigation buttons.
We added a small welcome message with the name of the Course on the top of the Test. That will make the user more comfortable to understand where they are when they get moved to the Test page.
We have also added a friendly message that the users don’t have to worry and that they can retake the Test.
Practice button will move the user down to the question
A small, but nice improvement that saves the user some scrolling: now when you watched the video and click on the Practice button, we automatically move you down the screen to the Practice question.
Notifications for the admin users
We have added a few useful notifications for the admin users. Now if you were assigned a role as an Account Manager, we will notify you through the email.
Also, if you have added a user to a Course via Add User button, you will receive an email notification when the user accepts the invitation. This will only happen if the user was added with the Add User button, and not with the help of the Invite file upload.
You can remove the invited users from your Private Course
We have added a very important feature for an admin user to control the invitations to private Courses. Now if some invited users should be removed from the Course, you can do it if you click on the Members list attached to the published Course.
The removed user will not be able to access the Course anymore and will not receive any other notifications from the admin user – for example, if the admin user decides to re-send the invitations once again.
Standard pre-filled invitation message
When you publish a private Course, you need to have the invitation message with the link to the private Course. We have pre-filled a standard text for this invitation message that has all the needed info and a simple instruction on how to take the Course.
You can still manually edit this message of course afterwards, but generally this is a great time saver for those who want to publish their Courses right away.
When the Course is published, the user is redirected to Publish Content
A small, but useful detail: you can publish a Course right after you created it in the Create Content menu.
When you are through with the publication dialogs, and your Course is published, we will move you automatically to the menu Publish Content.
Upgrade dialog if you want to send SMS under the Trial subscription
If you are under the Trial Subscription, you cannot communication with your users via SMS, since SMS is charged separately from the Subscription fee.
If you wish to add SMS to your Trial Account, you will have to upgrade it to at least Starter´Subscription.

- uQualio brings new features to make creating and publishing Courses as simple and fast as it can be.
We generate automatically four standard Badges so that the admin users can concentrate on creating the Course content. We also pre-fill the name of the User Group Name - now publishing Courses at uQualio became even easier.
- Publishing Private Courses requires sending and sometimes resending the invites — we made sure that this process is error-free by notifying the admin if any new users were added.
- Subscription in Account Settings now has the field Primary Contact, used for billing — to make sure that the invoices come to the right email address.

Better design for the achieved Badge
We improved the Badge design that the users see after they finish the Test. The more elaborate design of the Badge creates a better feeling for the user looking at their achievement.
We also remind the user that they don’t need to stress and can Retake Test or Train Again.
When the invite message is resent, the admin can choose all or only new users
If you choose to publish a Private Course, then as a final step you send the invites to the users in your invite file (or to the users you’ve added via Add User button).
You can always add more users along the way after the Course has been published.
When you click on the Send Invites button this time, we will ask you if you want to resend the invites to the all users or to new users only.
Also, if you wish to resend the invites once again, without adding new users (for example as a reminder), then we tell you that no new users are added and ask you if you want to send the invites once again. By this we make sure that you don’t do accidentally an action you did not plan.
Automatically pre-filled User Group Name
We reduced one more field for the admin user to enter about when publishing a Course. Now the User Group Name is generated automatically from the Course Version Name, and to avoid confusion has its type mentioned later in the brackets - Public, Protected or Private. If you want a specific name of the User Group, you can easily edit it when you Publish.
Four standard Badges created when a new Content Draft is made
We think that our admin users have enough work taking care of the great content on the Course. To reduce the number of things they to do, we generate four standard Badges:
The names of the Badge are translated according to Content language. That’s why you need to pick the Content language when you create a new Draft.
We will ask you if you want to generate new Badges if you change the language of your Content at a later stage.
Primary Contact used for invoicing
We added a new drop-down field Account Settings – Subscription which is called Primary Contact. It is used as the email address for billing. It is automatically preset to the email which was used to open the Admin Account at uQualio.
The Primary Contact can be changed. The drop-down shows the list of the available emails, which all should be already registered uQualio users. If the necessary email is not there, then it must be added in Account Settings - Admins.
Move the Copy button to the list of Content Drafts
We moved the Copy button from inside the Content Draft to the list of Drafts. This makes it easier for users who want to copy the Draft after it’s been created.

uQualio — improvements for achieved Badges and for payment
Highlights of the release
- uQualio brings new features to make the achievement of a Badge after taking a Test a more rewarding experience. The Badge's improved design makes it more desirable to keep and share with others.
- All new users will receive a short guiding messages on how to use the system to their User Notifications. Also the first achieved Badge is also bringing a congratulating message with a short instruction.
- Admin users can enjoy the benefits of a number of small improvements to the Create Content part of the system, as well as an easy payment process.

New users have a welcome notification on their page when they access the page for the first time
We try our best to make it easy to take the bite-size courses. As a part of this journey we send a new user a welcome message with short description and links of how to use the system.
Mobile login: keyboard includes @ symbol
Signing In on mobile has become a little easier for the user – now the mobile keyboard includes the @ symbol right away.
An anonymous user can keep the Badge when signing up afterwards
An anonymous user who accessed a Public Course, took a Test and achieved a Badge can easily add their name to the Badge and save it for the sharing purposes later, together with a short instruction on how to share the Badge. All you need to do is to Sign Up!
Minified Badge images are rectangular now
The small Badge images that can be seen on the Course page or in the list of achieved Badges at User Profile now are displayed as rectangular. We listened to the users’ feedback and it seems that the rectangular shape is more flexible in showing what is on the image than a circle.
Add to all "share on social media" elements description of what is being shared
Sometimes when the page has many elements, it can be confusing which part the “share on social media” is referring to. That’s why we specify each time what it is exactly that is being shared.
User Settings - link removed from below the user picture box
To avoid duplication, we removed the link to the User Settings from under the box with the user picture. User Settings can be accessed now from one place – by clicking on the User Picture in the top navigation bar.
Default frame for the achieved Badge
If the achieved Badge is not one of the four automatically generated frames (Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze), then it is displayed in a neutrally-colored frame.
Course Description can be found now as a section under the videos
To improve navigation in the Course, we moved Course Description to lie below the videos.
Buttons under the video made bigger on mobile
A small thing that bring a big user experience improvement: buttons related to video navigation are made bigger on mobile so that they are easier to tap with a finger.
Logo on Site Public Page has a white background
Based on user feedback, we replace the transparent background for the Logo image on Site Public Page to be a non-transparent white background.
Share Profile: text depends if you share your own profile or another user’s
You can safely share someone else’s or your own uQualio profile: the text will be adjusted accordingly.
"Add video name" moved
We made some changes to adding video links – now the video name should be entered before the video is added. If you want to add the video teaser, you will have to click on the video after it was added.
Payment process made easy – if you want to start, upgrade or downgrade your Subscription.
Show Help option in the Question editor: "from"/"to" changed to "from"/duration” in seconds"
Based on user feedback, we changed the setting time for the Help in Practice to “from”/duration in seconds”. That means you can write the start of the Help in the “from” field and then write for how many seconds the video should play in the “duration in seconds” field.
Video topic: not possible to opt out of “include video in Practice”
With uQualio you can publish videos with or without Practice/Test questions.
Questions are added to the video, and you cannot publish questions out of the video context.
We made the change because we see uQualio primarily as a video learning platform, and not only an assessment/testing platform.
To be consistent, we removed the check-box “include in Practice” from the video settings. That means that the Course must include at least one video, and then optionally some Practice/Test questions.
You can opt to include the video in the Test as well, that’s why we left the check-box to “include the video in Test”.
Achievement page: change the font size of the Badge depending on number of characters
We improved the design for the achieved Badge and it makes sense that the Badge name should have a reasonable length to fit nicely in the Badge.
We have made tests and come up with maximum number of characters allowed for the Badge name to be 30.
We have added some coding that will adjust the size and the location of the name in the Badge depending if it is 15 characters long or all 30. This way it always looks nice.
Added SMS balance amount to the Usage tab in Account Settings
It is important to keep track of the SMS usage, that’s why we added this information to the Usage tab in Account Settings. The balance shows opening balance for the period, postings and a closing balance in EUR. Please mind that you will normally need to refresh the page to see the latest info.

uQualio — better user experience when practicing and taking Tests, and Subscription related improvements

- uQualio brings new features to make the process of practicing and taking Tests easier and more effective with the help of redirecting the user to the precise part of the Practice/Test at the given moment.
- Admin users, among other things, will get a simplified one click procedure to upgrade the Subscription level in case the action requires a higher Subscription.
- Also, we've added a shortcut to publish a Course from the Versions tab and created a special page for video troubleshooting.
Main features in uQualio release from October 15, 2018:
Show Help: user gets moved automatically to the video and then back to the question
When the user clicks on Show Help inside the Practice section, we automatically move the user to the video and it begins to play at the designated time. When the time of the help finishes, we move the user back down to the Practice section.
Video is marked by its number in the list
Now the Course videos are marked with their order number in the format “x/y”. When the video is seen (and the Practice taken) we mark the video with a check mark.
When the user answered all questions we ask if they want to finish the Test
User can navigate through the Test questions either clicking on the question number or using the buttons Next and Previous. These buttons will navigate the user through the unanswered questions. When all questions have been answered, we ask the user if they want to finish the Test.
At this point the user can either submit the Test results, or get back to the Test questions, for example in order to change some answers.
User can interrupt and continue the Test at any time – we will save the progress.
It is also possible to finish the Test at any moment via the button Finish.
And you can retake the Test as many times as you want!
Anonymous user can keep and share Badges
We made it easy for anonymous users to keep their achievement: they just click on Sign Up and we create a uQualio profile with the achieved Badge already there.
The user gets their name on the Badge and can share their achievement.
Access to content from banned or suspended accounts is not possible
If an Account gets banned or suspended for the violation of the Terms – for example, for distributing illegal content – we shut down access to any content published on this Account.
We ask to upgrade Subscription if the action requires a higher plan
When the admin user reaches a limit under the current Subscription plan and tries to perform an action that requires a higher plan, we offer to upgrade the Subscription. Our Subscription plans can be found here.
Trial Account — we show dialog to upgrade Subscription when user tries to publish Protected or Public Course
Under the Trial Account you are only allowed to publish Private Courses. If you click on another type of Course’s Publishing Options, we will ask you if you want to upgrade the Subscription to use these Course types.
Publish content shortcut from Create Content Version based on subscription level
For the users that have one Site only we added a shortcut to publish: they need choose any Version in the Versions overview tab, and just click on Publish.
/check-access for video play troubleshooting
In case a user experiences some difficulties with playing the videos, we made a special page to check where the cause may be located.
Tabs Users in Account Settings and Site Settings
Admin users have a list with all users on their Account and Site. The lists show all active users who have accessed a Protected Course or been invited for a Private Course and who have give permissions for the Account to contact them.
Save as Version: reduced steps
We removed an extra click to save the Draft required before to save as a Version.
Now if the user clicks on Save as Version, we save the Draft in the background automatically.
uQualio — user permissions and effortless Free Trial creation
Highlights of the release
uQualio brings new features for an effortless creation of a free trial account at uQualio and helps admin user to fill in the required Account information when users decide to activate the Subscription.
Improvement of the process when the learners (users) give the permission to the Publisher to access their results and monitore progress when they access a Course and future courses. Access is given the first time a user accesses a course of the publisher.

Create new account under Free Trial — simplified the information to enter in the first step
You only need to write your email, an Account name and agree to the Terms. That’s it!
Your Trial Account at uQualio is created and you are free to create and publish Courses on trial basis.

"No courses available at the moment" on Site Home
Before we showed an empty page if the publisher decided not to make any Courses available. Now we added a message "No courses available at the moment" so that the learners can see the current list is empty.
Learners give permission to the Publisher
When a learner accesses the Course page for the first time, we show them a message box to give permissions to this Publisher to view their data.
The box is only shown once for any Courses from this Publisher.
Learners can see the list of corporate permissions they have accepted under the Permissions tab in User Settings.
The learners can revoke their permission here.
Activate subscription: Ask admin user for more Account/Site information
We pre-fill most of the fields in Account and Site Settings when a user creates a Trial Account.
When a user decides to activate subscription from a Trial Account, we ask them to fill in the missing data to their Account and Site Settings. This is not a prerequisite to activate the Subscription and is just a reminder for the admin user.

Admin user roles and new navigation menus
Major change in the navigation and access designed for our clients with a need to segregate roles in the system. It is possible to tune in the access to the parts of application depending on the admin user’s role in the organization. We created four admin user roles:
These four parts are now the tabs in the left-side menus.
Our other customers, who do not need to divide the roles and access levels, will naturally just get the access to all the roles by default.
More flexibility in editing your content images
Admin users already can set Default Images in Account Settings and Site Settings.
Admin user can update images when creating a Draft in one click - using the link "Update to Account default images".
The images are copied automatically to all following Content Versions.
Now we made it possible to overwrite those images individually on the Content Version and Course levels without having to create a new Content Draft. This way you can personalize Content Versions and Courses when needed.
Autofill - to save user time in repeated text fields and still the freedom to edit the text
Now admin users only need to type in Title, Subtitle and Description of the content once – in Draft. But they still have the possibility to edit it when creating a Course.
Reports capture anonymous activity on the published course to create a full overview of the statistics
Reports register now everyone who watched the videos, practiced and took Test – even anonymous users, all while their anonymity still remains safe.
Improved naming to avoid confusion: renamed Quiz to Practice
We noticed that our users had difficulty distinguishing between the Quiz and the Test. The users worked hard on the wrong part of the Course and took the Quiz over and over again. And then they were surprised to see that there were also coming Test. That’s why we renamed Quiz to Practice, so that it is clearer that these questions are here for the training sake.
Improved naming to raise attention: renamed "Link to My Public Profile" to "How others see me?"
We noticed that our users did not pay attention to the blue link "Link to My Public Profile" in their User Home and could understand what it does.
We renamed to a more personally relevant "How others see me?" which improved the attention and understanding.
Removed unnecessary answers repetition in Practice
Previously the button “Restart Practice” took the user to the very beginning of the Practice. Now the button takes the user to the question they answered wrong. Now the user does not have to answer the all the questions all over again.
Better overview of the options when you finish the Test
After a registered user has finish the Test, we help him on the further steps offering two buttons: “Retake Test” – if the user wants to improve the score, and “Train again” – if the user wants to go through the course videos again.
Improved user engagement through the Badge
After an anonymous user has finished the test, they are encouraged to Sign In and save their Badge, and, eventually, find other courses to take.
Improved navigation when watching the course videos – easy to come back
We now register what video a user has accessed. We show the name of the video in a lighter color and have a check mark in the navigation overview. Important: Practice is considered an integrate part of video, that's why we mark the video as watched after the user activated the video AND took the Practice.
First time the user accesses the Course we start at the first video. Next time the user accesses the Course we start at next video they have not seen.

Improved engagement and better effect
Notifications and reports
You deliver content to participants for learning.
With uQualio release 5.0.96 new and improved features for campaign managers were added to the application. Two of them are important when you want to engage your participants and increase the effect and participation rate of your campaigns:
You want to keep the participants engaged with your campaign. First thing is to invite them to join and watch the videos. The invitation is sent to them as email and SMS message, but also appears as a notification on your campaign target page and even on the user’s home page in uQualio. This way you push the invitation through multiple channels to your target audience. A good way to get them on to the campaign and help you deliver the business goal of inviting them in the first place.
On the campaign page your invitation is shown next to the content. Here you post status messages about the campaign or reminders to the user. Every time you publish a notification from the campaign you can use other available channels (user notification, email, SMS).
When your campaign is in progress you need to:
You use reports to do this. Start with a predefined report – either an exception report or a status report.
You want to remind participants that they must join and go through the content?
Your campaign is about to end, and you want to remind participants in progress with the test?
When your campaign is over you can share information with all participants. Pick e.g. report “All users” and send a message about general status and next steps in your program. Or pick the report “Test status” to communicate with the participants who did the test.
Limit your communication? Imagine your campaign is almost over. You want to congratulate participants who scored about 90% in the test? This is easily done from the report “Test status” using Report Filters. Start out in report “Test status”, then pick the column score and enter “>90”. The report is filtered to show only participants with a score above 90%. This is where you send them a notification for the best performers on the test.
Report filters are an effective way to generate a directed target group. Use report “All users” and filter on “manager” in column Role. You’re about to communicate with a subset of your participants.
I have shown how notifications and reports help making you campaign more successful as you engage your participants directly from the campaign page. You can pick smaller participant groups easily using reports and apply filtering and you can pick one or more channels to deliver your message. Using these two effective tools you:
